Cellphone Support

Cellphone usage has been increased drastically during the last few years.

I have recently been sitting on the front porch observing the traffic out front and there is almost half of the drivers are talking on their cell phones.

Truck drivers are one of the users that I have noticed. I guess the cellphone provides a lot of company when they are out on the road. I early years they would use their CB radio to communicate but this was only local truckers in the area of only a few miles.

Use of the cellphone provides the Trucker to maintain contact with his family no matter where he is located on the road.

The advancements in cell phones have made it possible to perform many of the tasks that were accomplished by computers in thee past.  The use of the cell phone to check your e-mail any where there is  a cell tower.  The availability of cell towers are growing like trees.

This includes most places but one of my favorite places in western North Carolina at Lake Nantahala, Big Choga.  This is a beautiful place located deep into the mountains. The phone company has yet to install a cell tower for our use. Hopefully not too long in the future.  At one time the phone company said it was too costly to install a tower to make it profitable. A group of our enthusiastic  residents got together and located a multi-element tower in Florida and had it transported to our lake. The phone company came out and said the tower was not strong enough to handle the many elements required . Hopefully we will convince someone of the phone company to come around and provide a cell coverage for the community.
